Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Develop, review, and update company compliance policies and procedures.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of internal controls and recommend enhancements.
- Ensure the organization complies with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance-related matters.
- Investigate compliance issues, prepare reports, and coordinate with relevant departments to implement corrective actions.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with regulatory bodies and manage audits or inspections.
- Keep up to date with regulatory changes and industry best practices and ensure timely implementation.
- Maintain proper documentation and reporting systems for compliance activities.
- Prepare compliance reports for senior management and regulatory authorities.
- Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company's governance framework in alignment with regulatory expectations and best practices.
- Coordinate with the Board and its sub-Committees (e.g. Audit & Risk Committee) by preparing reports, dashboards, and governance-related insights.
- Contribute to the development of governance framework, delegation of authority, and decision-making frameworks.
- Ensuring governance principles (e.g. responsibility, accountability, transparency, etc.) are embedded into business operations and decision-making processes.
- Acting as liaison between compliance, risk, and strategy functions to ensure governance consistency across the company.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in law, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (master s preferred).
- Professional certification such as Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) or similar is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 - 8 years of experience in a compliance, legal, or regulatory role.
- Strong knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards.
- Experience with compliance monitoring, auditing, and reporting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and high ethical standards.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with compliance management systems and tools.
