Roles & Responsibilities
About the Role We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Warehouse Management Architect (SAP EWM) to lead the end-to-end architecture strategy for large-scale warehouse and distribution center operations built on SAP technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining and governing enterprise-wide warehouse management architecture, ensuring seamless integration between SAP EWM, SAP S/4HANA/ECC, Transportation Management Systems, Order Management Platforms, Automation Solutions, and Third-Party Logistics (3PL) ecosystems . This role requires a strong combination of business process expertise, enterprise architecture experience, SAP solution design capabilities, and supply chain transformation leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Architecture & Strategy Define and maintain the target-state warehouse management architecture across applications, processes, data, integrations, and infrastructure. Develop strategic roadmaps for warehouse modernization, automation, digital transformation, and operational excellence initiatives. Align warehouse technology solutions with enterprise architecture principles, security standards, governance frameworks, and business objectives. Drive architectural decisions supporting inventory optimization, fulfillment efficiency, OTIF (On-Time In-Full) delivery, and cost-to-serve improvements.
SAP EWM Solution Architecture Design and govern SAP EWM architecture across warehouse operations including: Inbound Processing Cross-Docking Put-away Storage Management Replenishment Picking & Packing Value Added Services (VAS) Dispatch & Shipping Reverse Logistics & Returns Ensure architecture supports RF devices, voice-directed picking, warehouse automation, robotics, and material handling equipment integration. Lead solution architecture reviews and provide technical guidance throughout project lifecycles.
Integration Architecture Define and govern integration frameworks between: SAP EWM SAP S/4HANA / ECC SAP TM Order Management Systems (OMS) Third-Party Logistics Providers (3PL) Automation Platforms External Supply Chain Systems Design scalable integration patterns using: SAP PI/PO SAP CPI APIs IDOCs Message Queues Event-driven Architectures Ensure high availability, resilience, scalability, and performance across integrated platforms.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management Partner with Supply Chain, Distribution Center Operations, Finance, Business Transformation, and IT leadership teams. Participate in RFP creation, vendor evaluations, solution assessments, and technology selection initiatives. Collaborate with implementation partners, SAP consultants, infrastructure teams, and system integrators.
Governance & Compliance Establish architecture standards, principles, reference models, and best practices for warehouse management solutions. Define non-functional requirements including: Security Availability Performance Disaster Recovery Business Continuity Observability & Monitoring Ensure compliance with industry regulations, operational standards, and enterprise governance requirements.
Data & Analytics Work closely with Data & Analytics teams to support: Inventory Visibility Warehouse Productivity Reporting Financial Reconciliation Operational Dashboards Predictive Analytics AI/ML Use Cases Ensure data architecture supports enterprise reporting and decision-making requirements.
Leadership & Mentorship Provide architectural leadership to SAP Functional Consultants, Developers, Integration Specialists, Infrastructure Teams, and Project Managers. Mentor solution architects and senior consultants on SAP EWM best practices and enterprise architecture methodologies. Contribute to SAP transformation programs and future-state enterprise architecture initiatives.

Experience Required 12+ years of overall IT and Enterprise Applications experience. 7+ years of SAP Warehouse Management / SAP EWM experience. Proven experience designing enterprise-scale warehouse and logistics architectures. Experience leading large SAP transformation and modernization programs. Strong exposure to retail, FMCG, logistics, supply chain, manufacturing, or distribution environments. Experience working with warehouse automation and third-party logistics integrations is highly desirable.
