Roles & Responsibilities


JOB ROLE - ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER



Key Responsibilities


  • Program Development & Implementation: Design, implement, and maintain Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) management systems and programs.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the organization adheres to local, national, and international environmental and safety laws and standards.
  • Auditing & Inspections: Conduct regular internal audits and inspections of facilities and operations to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
  • Risk Assessment & Hazard Control: Perform risk assessments, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and HAZOP studies to identify and mitigate workplace and environmental risks.
  • Hazardous Waste Management: Oversee the proper handling, storage, labeling, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
  • Employee Training & Awareness: Develop and deliver EHS training programs to employees, promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring understanding of policies and procedures.
  • Incident Investigation & Response: Investigate accidents, incidents, and environmental emergencies, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Environmental Monitoring: Monitor and manage environmental compliance, such as air emissions, water effluent quality, and waste management, ensuring systems meet required norms.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Lead and support sustainability projects, including energy efficiency, waste reduction, and water conservation efforts.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain records, reports, and documentation related to EHS compliance, permits, and regulatory submissions.
  • Vendor Management: Interact with and ensure compliance from outside vendors and contractors regarding EHS policies and procedures.


Key Skills & Qualifications


  • Any Degree, environmental science, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of EHS regulations, engineering principles, industrial hygiene, and safety procedures.
  • Experience with Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and ISO 14001.
  • Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents and regulations.
  • Experience with risk assessment tools (e.g., FMEA, HAZOP).
