Roles & Responsibilities

Key responsibilities

Lab Management

- Overview of daily activities, attending to analytical and operation issues to resolve in order to ensure seamless laboratory functioning. Should have good technical knowledge in the field of analytical lab testing.

Documents

-Technical documents for Standard Operations Procedures, Work instruction, quality form.

Training & staff competency

-Conduct training to Chemists, Technicians and routine verification of their competencies and internal audits. ISO, APHA, and EPA laboratory methods Equipment handling and maintenance

Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)

Laboratory QHSSE

-Ensuring aspects related to quality, health, safety and environment are met during the procession, usage and disposal of various substances which are in routine use and ensure that recognised procedures / standards are followed during these processes.

Test equipment s

-Ensure that the laboratory is maintaining calibrations and verifications at all times.

-Ensure that equipment and reagents are provided to the laboratory such that the testing can be performed without undue delay.

Audit

-Take lead on external audits, be the first point of contact for our accrediting body.

Overall responsibility for ensuring the laboratory produces quality, reliable data.

Experience and Knowledge /b

  • Perform Inorganic testing on ICP-OES, Microwave and IC for water and soil samples to analyze and quantify metals, anions etc.
  • Hands-on experience collection, preservation, and transportation of water samples to maintain their integrity.
  • Develop new methods and protocols to enhance laboratory capabilities for water and soil samples.
  • Conduct validation and measurement uncertainty studies for inorganic parameters in the lab.
  • Implement quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of analytical analyses.
  • Hands-on experience in preparing and storing standard solutions and other reagents required for inorganic, and wet chemistry analysis in water and soil samples.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly checks as per ISO/APHA methods.
  • Conduct QA/QC checks and standardization as directed by Lab.
  • Calibrate and verify instruments internally as instructed by Lab.
  • Perform routine wet chemistry analysis for parameters such as BOD, COD, ammonia, sulfide, TDS, etc.
  • Maintain a clean laboratory environment at all times.
  • Adhere to international standards ISO/IEC 17025, local government requirements, GLP, and other relevant laboratory safety standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential sources of contamination and develop mitigation strategies.Well-developed communication skills.
  • Should have excellent analytical instrument knowledge.
  • Should have knowledge in international standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
  • Good communication skill.
  • Basic computer knowledge in Microsoft Excel & Word.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education: Master- Degree in Chemistry or preferably Analytical Chemistry/ Environmental sciences or related subjects which provide a technical base for understanding testing procedures and the results.

Working Experience - 3-8 years (Minimum 2 years of experience in analytical laboratory services, preferably in an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory)

Management Experience - None-Supervisory experience add plus point.
