Job Overview

The Equipment & Maintenance Foreman will oversee maintenance activities, lifting operations, rigging tasks, and equipment handling on barges. The role requires leadership skills, strong technical knowledge, and hands-on experience with mechanical tools, rigging systems, and barge safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance and equipment repair activities.
• Lead lifting and rigging operations during barge loading and offloading.
• Ensure safe and correct use of rigging tools and lifting accessories.
• Oversee the use, inspection, and maintenance of hand and power tools.
• Ensure compliance with barge safety procedures and equipment standards.
• Coordinate with supervisors and crew for smooth operational flow.
• Train and guide technicians and helpers when necessary.
• Maintain maintenance records and tool inventory.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in equipment maintenance or similar trade.
• Strong knowledge of lifting activities and handling rigging tools , especially during barge loading/offloading.
• Skilled in handling hand and power tools, including:
• Drilling & Grinding Machines
• Jig & Band Saw
• Hilti Tools
• Torque Wrenches
• Bolt Tensioning Tools
• Knowledge of safety equipment used in barge operations.
• Ability to lead and supervise a maintenance team.
• Good understanding of safety protocols and marine/barge procedures.
