Roles & Responsibilities

Role Summary:

ERT Members are trained personnel responsible for assisting in emergency situations to protect life, property, and the environment. They act under the direction of the ERT Lead during drills and real incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Emergency Response
    • Respond promptly to alarms and emergencies according to established procedures.
    • Execute assigned duties during incidents (firefighting, first aid, evacuation assistance, spill control, etc.).
    • Ensure personal safety and that of others while performing emergency tasks.
  • Preparedness
    • Participate in all scheduled emergency drills and training sessions.
    • Maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) and assigned emergency tools.
    • Report any damaged or missing emergency equipment to the ERT Lead.
  • Support Roles
    • Assist in crowd control and ensure safe evacuation routes.
    • Provide initial medical assistance and coordinate with medical responders.
    • Help in incident containment and mitigation under supervision.
  • Post-Incident Activities
    • Participate in debriefings and contribute feedback to improve response procedures.
    • Assist in cleanup, restoration, and post-incident documentation.
  • Awareness & Communication
    • Stay familiar with the facility layout, emergency exits, and alarm systems.
    • Communicate clearly and calmly during emergencies.

Desired Candidate Profile

Minimum of 5 years of industry specific Oil & Gas experience (on/off shore) as Emergency Response Technicians. Emergency Dispatch and Breathing Air Technicians will not be considered without the relevant years of Emergency Response Technician experience.

Minimum Qualification as follows:

- Certification that reflects proficiency/competency to the skill requirements of Chapter 7 (NFPA 1006 & 1670) for Confined Space Rescue and documented in accordance with OSHA 1910.146. Standard First Aid/CPR with AED.

- IRATA level one for team member.

- IRATA level two or three team leader (based on assessment)
