Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Safety & Loss Prevention Related Activities/Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and continuously improve the site safety management system to satisfy ISO 45001 standard, KORE Requirements, and local regulations:
    • Review and update frequently risk assessment
    • Assure regulatory and KORE compliance assessment and drive robust action plans.
    • Develop annual safety program in collaboration with other plant functions, track, and assure it is completed as planned.
    • Manage planned inspection programs. Coordinate safety inspections and ensure documentation, follow-up and implementation of actions.
    • Occupational hygiene monitoring identified and conducted for all associates (exposure to health hazards program).
    • Support robust change management program.
    • Review and improve related procedures and standard work instructions.
    • Lead and/or deliver general and technical training to new associates, contractors and/or temporary personnel to ensure capabilities are developed within the organization.
    • Measure site safety performance and ensure appropriate reporting to leadership. Analyze trends and use them to drive relevant strategies and for predictive analysis. Ensure safety data are reported accurately and timely.
    • Perform internal audit program to keep improving the system and ensure site audit readiness for ISO, GAO audits.
  • Use risk assessment approach to ensure that safe workplace is provided to all staff, visitors and contractors.
  • Develop emergency and incident management plans, training and co-ordinate with onsite management and off-site emergency services and exercises.
  • Develop injury and illness prevention plans, conduct incident investigations, and track safety performance, ensure appropriate reporting. Use the TCCC reporting system (KOSMOS), to analyze trends and use them to drive relevant strategies.
  • Develop and manage plant security programs in accordance with company standards and local requirements including key areas of electronic systems (Access control, perimeter detection, fire protection), manned guarding, contractors, and visitors.
  • Manage Safety budget, recommend cost savings and proactively negotiate with vendors and suppliers.
  • Collaborate and benchmark internally and externally to ensure safety programs, guidelines and tools remain current and reflect the latest thinking, and to share best practices.
  • Build a strong safety culture starting with leadership team, general manager, and frontline leaders.
  • Maintain open communication and relationships within all levels of the organization including other CPS location Safety colleagues, CPS QSE Leadership Team, external government agencies and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure dynamic CPS OSH communication within our network to standardize processes, drive priorities, show case best practices, share learnings in case of incidents.
  • Contribute to CPS QSE Management System development, improvement and ensure integration/standardization.
  • Advise senior management on strategies for Facility Fire Prevention & Protection, to ensure compliance with Corporate & Insurance requirements, and to minimize financial loss of assets due to fires.
  • Stop any activity by either company employees, contractors or any other personnel on the site if it forms an intolerable or unforeseen risk on personal safety or aspect to the environment related to this activity.
  • Review, selection & identify sourcing of different types of personal protective equipment.
  • Introduce project proposals to help in the risk mitigation & reduce our environmental impact & improve our resources usage efficiency.
  • Review & verify corrective actions before implementation and validate findings closure after implementation.
  • Share on a timely manner risks that could affect our personal with their mitigation plans to the leadership team for their intervention & resource allocation.

Sustainability Related Activities/Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and continuously improve the site environmental management system to satisfy ISO 14001 standard, Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS), and ISO 50001 if applicable:
    • Review and update frequently risk assessment
    • Assure regulatory and KORE compliance assessment and drive robust action plans
    • Develop annual sustainability program in collaboration with other plant functions, track its roll out as planned
    • Support robust change management program
    • Lead and/or deliver general training to new associates, contractors and/or temporary personnel and technical training to assure capabilities are developed within the organization.
    • Measure site environmental performance and ensure appropriate reporting to leadership aligned with ESG reporting requirements. Analyze trends and use them to drive relevant strategies and for predictive analysis. Ensure sustainability data are reported accurately and timely.
    • Perform internal audit program to keep improving the system and ensure site audit readiness for ISO, GAO audits
  • Ensure appropriate site preparedness to respond to any environmental issue. Investigate any situation and ensure appropriate action plan is implemented to learn and improve.
  • Drive sustainable management of resources aligned with CPS 2030 strategy, including energy and water in alignment with our TCCC World Without Waste vision:
  • Build a roadmap for water management based on project pipeline and associated CAPEX plan for water reduction, replenish projects to drive water regeneration and meeting AWS (Alliance for Water Stewardship) principles.
  • Lead strategy to drive decarbonization of our supply chain to reduce energy usage of the site; develop renewable strategies to move to green energy and support efforts in decarbonization of scope 3 emissions related to transport, packaging and ingredients.
  • Actively contribute, provide subject matter expertise to global Environment Network to develop and implement local and global policies and CPS guidelines related to environment.
  • Provide engineering design and maintenance input and support for all facility process to ensure that they are sustainable by design.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor s/Master s degree, in Occupational Health and Safety, Environment or relevant technical area,

  • 8+ years in Safety/Environment/sustainability experience, with 3+ years in managing teams and workplace safety.
  • Experience & knowledge of security systems
  • Outstanding communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Certified Safety specialist & safety committee member certified (Governmental accreditation)
