Job Description

An Estimation Engineer specializing in Instrumentation is responsible for analyzing and determining the estimated costs, resources, and time required for instrumentation projects within various sectors like oil and gas, construction, and manufacturing. This role involves a high level of precision in reviewing project drawings, blueprints, and specifications to provide accurate forecasts and proposals. The estimation engineer works closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to optimize resource allocation and ensure project efficiencies. This position is crucial in achieving an effective cost management strategy that supports the company s financial goals and operational success. As an expert, the Estimation Engineer must stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to provide innovative solutions that drive productivity and savings.


Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze project plans, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for instrumentation projects and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project scope and objectives.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections when necessary to support accurate estimation processes.
  • Maintain and update estimating software and databases with current material and labor costs.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations to enhance project profitability.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, contractors, and clients to source competitive pricing.
  • Prepare comprehensive estimation reports and presentations for client approval and executive review.
  • Participate in contract negotiation discussions to align estimates with client expectations and budgets.
  • Support the project management team during the execution phase by providing ongoing cost analysis.
  • Review post-project evaluation data to refine estimation techniques and improve future projections.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies throughout the estimation process.

Requirements
  • Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in estimation or cost engineering roles.
  • Proven proficiency with estimation software and computer-aided design (CAD) tools.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills for accurate budget and cost calculation.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey technical information to diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines effectively.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards, technologies, and emerging trends in instrumentation.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and thoroughness in estimation tasks.
