Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed cost analysis and prepare accurate project estimates by reviewing technical specifications and drawings.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to gather necessary information and clarify project requirements.
- Utilize advanced estimation software and tools to streamline the estimation process and ensure precision.
- Evaluate subcontractor bids and negotiate terms to achieve the best value for the project.
- Maintain a comprehensive database of costs and pricing information to support future estimates and project planning.
- Analyze historical data and market trends to forecast costs and identify potential savings opportunities.
- Prepare and present detailed estimation reports to stakeholders, highlighting key assumptions and methodologies used.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations throughout the estimation process.
- Continuously improve estimation processes by implementing best practices and leveraging new technologies.
- Participate in project reviews and post-mortems to refine estimation accuracy and improve future project bids.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is essential.
- Minimum 10 years of work experience in cost estimation within the construction or engineering industry.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Cost Estimator/Analyst (CCEA) or similar credentials are preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in cost analysis.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present information.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Demonstrated understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards is crucial.
- Fluency in English is required; additional languages are a plus for multinational projects.
- Proactive mindset with a problem-solving attitude, able to identify challenges and propose practical solutions.
