Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Analyze electrical drawings, specifications, and project documents to accurately determine the scope of work and material requirements, ensuring no detail is overlooked.
- Prepare detailed and competitive electrical cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs, utilizing specialized estimation software.
- Conduct thorough quantity take-offs from blueprints and specifications to ensure precise material calculations, minimizing waste and maximizing profitability.
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes, negotiating favorable pricing and terms to optimize project budgets and maintain project cost-effectiveness.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, providing a strong technical foundation.
- Holds relevant certifications such as P.E. (Professional Engineer) or EIT (Engineer in Training), demonstrating professional competence.
- Demonstrates 5+ years of experience in electrical estimation within the construction industry, showcasing practical expertise.
- Exhibits a deep understanding of electrical systems, codes (NEC, etc.), and construction methods, ensuring accurate estimations.
