Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze shutdown work scopes, RFQs, tender documents, drawings, and specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates.
  • Conduct site visits and meetings to gather necessary input for estimating.
  • Prepare BOQ (Bill of Quantities), man-hour estimates, and pricing sheets for shutdown activities.
  • Estimate costs for materials, labor, equipment, subcontracting, and temporary facilities for the shutdown project.
  • Collaborate with procurement and subcontract teams for vendor and subcontractor quotes.
  • Coordinate with planning and execution teams to integrate estimation data with work schedules and shutdown timelines.
  • Provide technical input on shutdown methodologies and resource allocation during estimation.
  • Develop and maintain a cost database and historical pricing library for shutdown works.
  • Participate in risk assessment, contingency planning, and pricing strategy sessions.
  • Prepare and present bid proposals to internal stakeholders and management.

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum 2 5 years of experience in cost estimation in the oil & gas industry, with at least 2 years in shutdown or turnaround projects. Strong understanding of shutdown scopes including mechanical, piping, equipment overhauls, and maintenance. Familiar with codes and standards like ASME, API, ANSI relevant to oil & gas shutdowns. Knowledge of material take-offs (MTO), labor productivity norms, and cost modeling. Familiarity with HSE requirements and constraints for shutdown projects.
