Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Estimating:

  • Study project drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
  • Prepare accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Liaise with suppliers/subcontractors to gather pricing and quotations.
  • Assist in preparing tender submissions and project budgets.
  • Coordinate with procurement, planning, and site teams for technical clarifications.
  • Update cost databases and maintain records of historical data.

Drafting:

  • Create and modify detailed CAD drawings for architectural, civil, mechanical, or electrical systems.
  • Ensure drawings comply with company standards and local regulations.
  • Revise and update drawings based on engineer/architect feedback or site conditions.
  • Coordinate drawings with other disciplines (e.g., structural, MEP).

General:

  • Support project managers in preparing project documentation.
  • Attend site visits or meetings when required to gather technical inputs.
  • Maintain drawing logs, estimation records, and document control.

Desired Candidate Profile

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • Proven experience in estimation and CAD drafting (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of construction methods and materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and estimation software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar).
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with local building codes and construction regulations.
  • Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) tools is an advantage.
  • Experience in quantity surveying or tendering processes.
