Job Description

An Estimator cum Procurement Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of a company's procurement and estimation processes. This dynamic position combines two key functions: accurately estimating the costs associated with potential projects and managing the procurement of goods and services. As an Estimator, you will be responsible for analyzing costs, preparing detailed cost breakdowns, and helping to prepare competitive bids. As a Procurement Officer, you will oversee the purchasing cycle, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure that purchases are made cost-effectively while meeting the quality and timelines required by the projects. This dual role demands excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively in fast-paced environments. Strong communication and negotiation skills are also essential as you will liaise with internal teams, vendors, and clients to ensure that the company s purchasing goals are achieved efficiently.


Responsibilities
  • Analyze project requirements to develop cost estimates and establish procurement needs.
  • Prepare and submit detailed cost breakdowns to aid in project bid processes.
  • Source suppliers and negotiate purchase agreements to secure beneficial terms.
  • Review and interpret construction documents and blueprints to estimate material needs.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of suppliers, products, and pricing structures.
  • Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, cost, and delivery efficiency criteria.
  • Coordinate with project managers to align estimation and procurement with project timelines.
  • Monitor market trends and conditions to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Prepare reports documenting project costs and procurement efficiency for management.
  • Periodically review and update the estimation tools and procurement policies.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards in procurement activities.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior staff in estimation and procurement processes.

Requirements
  • Bachelor s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience as an Estimator or Procurement Officer in the construction sector.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data and forecasts accurately.
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in procurement software and estimation tools, such as MS Excel and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively under tight deadlines.
  • In-depth knowledge of supply chain and procurement best practices and principles.
