Estimator, Electromechanical - Qatar

Our client in Qatar, specializes in the execution and maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems in multiple sectors. On their behalf we are looking for an estimator, electromechanical.

The main purpose of the role is to prepare accurate cost estimations and competitive technical & commercial proposals for MEP tenders and to deal with enquiries by analysing drawings, specifications, and client requirements in alignment with project timelines and profitability objectives.

Further aspects of the job will be to study and analyze tender drawings, BOQs, specifications, and contract documents, Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and material breakdowns for MEP systems, Request and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations, Prepare cost estimation sheets, technical submissions, and pricing for tenders, Coordinate with design, procurement, and planning departments for optimized offers, Attend pre-bid and post-bid meetings and respond to clarification requests, Ensure compliance with client and regulatory standards in submissions, Prepare value engineering proposals and project alternatives where applicable, Support project handover from estimation to execution teams after award and Focused on identifying and securing new projects through accurate cost estimation and strategic planning.

To be suitable for this role you will need to have gained a minimum of 5 to 8 years experience in MEP estimation in the GCC construction sector, Bachelor or Masters degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, UPDA Certified is a must, Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, and electrical systems, Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and estimation software and Knowledge of market prices, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Strong analytical and numerical ability, Excellent communication and time management skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
