Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Analyze mechanical blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Conduct thorough site visits to assess project requirements and identify potential challenges related to mechanical installations.
  • Prepare accurate and competitive bids, including material costs, labor hours, equipment expenses, and subcontractor quotes.
  • Evaluate and negotiate with vendors and subcontractors to secure the most favorable pricing and terms for mechanical components.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of material prices, labor rates, and vendor information for accurate cost tracking.
  • Review and interpret contract documents, including scope of work, to ensure all project requirements are addressed in the estimate.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to clarify project scope and resolve any technical issues.
  • Prepare and present detailed cost breakdowns and proposals to clients, effectively communicating the value of the mechanical solutions.
  • Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase, identifying and addressing any cost overruns or changes.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in mechanical estimation to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Possess relevant certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or similar credentials are highly valued.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical estimation within the construction industry is required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in estimating HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for commercial and industrial projects is essential.
  • Strong proficiency in using estimation software (e.g., Accubid, Bluebeam, or similar) is a must.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and mathematical skills are crucial for accurate cost calculations.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities to effectively interact with clients, vendors, and project teams are required.
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines is expected.
  • Candidates with prior experience in the Middle East region (e.g., UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia) are preferred.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory, and knowledge of Arabic is a plus for effective communication.
