Facade Structural Engineer

The role will be responsible for the analysis and design of building facade systems such as curtain walls, cladding, doors and windows. To ensure projects are structurally sound, safe and compliant with project specifications, building codes, and architectural requirements. The job holder shall handle structural and thermal calculations, prepare design documents, support value engineering efforts, assist in system selection, coordinate with key stakeholders and resolve technical issues.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

§ Review project documents, identify the scope of works and determine design requirements.

§ Perform structural analysis and design for various facade systems (curtain walls, cladding, skylights, canopies) using computer-aided engineering and design software, including finite element analysis

§ Perform structural analysis and design for various facade systems (curtain walls, cladding, skylights, canopies) using computer-aided engineering and design software, including finite element analysis . Ensure compliance to project and performance requirements

§ Attend client meetings, participate on project presentations and maintain excellent client relationships.

§ Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for all facade systems.

§ Propose suitable aluminium systems / designs in line with customer requirements, project specifications and design intent.

§ Work closely with architects, project managers, and other consultants to integrate architectural and structural requirements and resolve technical problems.

§ Coordinate with fabrication and installation teams, conduct site inspections, and resolve any technical or quality issues that arise during construction.

§ Ensure all designs and materials comply with relevant international and local codes and standards

§ Support value engineering efforts and assist in material selection.

§ Develop design concepts and shop drawings of all type of façade systems using AutoCAD (Stick, semi- unitized and unitized curtain walls, Cladding, doors and windows)
