Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The Facility Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and management of all aspects of an organization's facilities. This position requires strategic planning to ensure the efficiency and sustainability of the facility, as well as overseeing the maintenance, operations, and safety of the facility. Facility Managers are responsible for managing a team, coordinating with external vendors, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. This role is vital for creating a safe, functional, and pleasant working environment for employees, clients, and visitors. As a liaison between the organization and service providers, Facility Managers must possess excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the efficient operation and maintenance of facility systems and infrastructure.
- Develop and implement facility management policies and standard operating procedures.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure timely service and maintenance.
- Monitor facility budgets and oversee expenditures to optimize resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and resolve facility issues.
- Manage the procurement and inventory of materials and supplies for the facility.
- Implement sustainability practices to reduce the environmental impact of facilities.
- Supervise and train facility staff to enhance performance and productivity.
- Plan and execute facility projects and renovations to meet organizational needs.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and facility-related incidents to minimize disruptions.
- Prepare detailed reports and forecasts to support strategic facility planning.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in facility management or a related operational role.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance, and operations best practices.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills required.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively under pressure.
- Proficiency with facility management software and Microsoft Office Suite necessary.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards applicable to facilities.
