Role & responsibilities

PRODUCTION MANAGER

Preferred candidate profile

1. Planning, coordinating and executing farm activities by work assignments, setting priorities and directing the work of the subordinate employees as per set priorities by Senior Production Manager.
2. Preparing and implementing annual budget for the area of responsibilities.
3. Supervising and providing technical assistance to Production Supervisors and farm workers.
4. Plays an important role to oversee the day to day operations on his work area.
5. Advising management on better and improved farming techniques and new innovations.
6. Daily monitoring of the field to identify the pest and disease problems and selecting the economical and the correct control measures for the problems.
7. Prepare schedules for planting and harvesting on the farm as per the budgets made.
8. Maintaining transparency with the Management
9. Maintenance of infra structure, including irrigation systems, machineries, farm roads, fire breaks and waste management facilities in the farm.
10. Procuring the required seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and other items on time to ensure needed stock levels are maintained.
11. Appraising the performance of Production supervisors and Group leaders.
12. Identifying staff development and training needs and ensure that required training is obtained to the respective persons.
13. Prepare and submit regular report to management on farm operations and activities.
14. Ensure that all machinery and equipments are maintained and all crops are harvested and sold in the right maturity and time.
15. Ensuring cost savings in all possible areas of operation by means of mechanisation, and showing the best method of operations so as to improve the efficiency of the workers.
16. Ensure that all the harvested produce are packed and sold in the right time.
17. Identifying the appropriate and cost effective plant protection chemicals and fertilizers for the crops and sourcing it.
18. Keeping records of all day to day activities of the farm
19. Ensuring the safety of the workers inside the farm.
20. Preparing for GlobalG.A.P audit every year
21. Liasoning with Pack House Manager and Sales team every day
22. Conducting regular varietal trials and reporting the findings to the management
23. Impart regular training to Production Supervisors and Group Leaders
24. Visit markets regularly to understand quality parameters and competitors activities
