Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support setup, calibration, and basic repair of test equipment such as OTDRs, fusion splicers, light sources, and power meters.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to conduct network testing, fault analysis, and system diagnostics.
  • Participate in fiber network fieldwork during installations, splicing, or maintenance activities.
  • Document testing results, calibration logs, and assist in creating technical service reports.
  • Help maintain inventory and readiness of all fiber optic tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and telecom industry best practices during all field or lab operations.
  • Engage in structured on-the-job training and continuous learning through UAS technical development programs.

Desired Candidate Profile

Technical Skills:

  • Basic understanding of fiber optic principles and telecom network configurations (e.g., FTTx, GPON).
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools such as OTDRs, optical power meters, and fusion splicers is a plus.
  • Strong interest in hands-on telecom work and a willingness to learn in field-based environments.
  • Good communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to travel to client sites and work flexible hours when required.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Soft Skills:

  • Presentation skills to conduct customer training and prepare technical documentation.
  • Willingness to travel for on-site support across Egypt and potentially the region.
  • Very good command of English.
