Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Under the supervison of the Field Monitoring Coordinator and within delegated authority, the Field Monitoring Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:
- Conduct process monitoring for WFP activities of all modalities, in accordance with established plans based on sample size and monitoring requirements. This includes filling structured surveys, conducting semi-structured beneficiary interviews, and reporting unstructured observations from each visit.
- Conduct post distribution monitoring visits at household beneficiaries level collecting through conducting semi-structured interviews.
- Conduct or support qualitative data collection, including through key informant interviews and focus group discussions, as required.
- Report findings and observations to supervisor for timely resolution of problems and to ensure that the quantity distributed, and the quality of the operation is in line with WFP standards.
- Maintain assistance programme(s) data in accordance with clear direction, such as records of commodity movements and programme check lists, to assist in the effective delivery and distribution of food items or non-food items.
- Collect assistance programme(s) data in accordance with clear direction, to support programme reviews and informative decision-making.
- Liaise with cooperating partners and internal counterparts to gather feedback and comments to support programme reviews and improve services.
- Receive and collect comments and feedback from cooperating partners and beneficiaries to support identifying programmatic issues with a view to fostering efficient operations.
- Provide guidance for cooperating partners on WFP operational practices, monitoring tools and methods in order to support them to complete self-monitoring tasks to contribute to the visibility of WFP in the coverage areas.
- Prepare field mission reports to document programme implementation.
- Follow set emergency response processes and procedures for emergency food assistance.
- Any other business as required.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area. Completion of BA degree in social sciences, statistics, or computer science, or and related disciplines is desirable.
Experience:
- Minimum 4 years of post-secondary school relevant working experience in monitoring and evaluation, data collection, analysis, reporting, program assistance, human development, or a humanitarian context or any other related field;
- Knowledge of World Food Programme (WFP) activities in Gaza is mandatory
Desirable Requirements:
- Prior experience with World Food Programme (WFP)
- Prior experience in post-distribution monitoring of large-scale cash programmes
- Understanding of food security indicators (FCS, RCSI, LCSI, etc.)
Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Arabic.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Strategic Management: Displays basic understanding of WFP s policies and strategies to perform monitoring activities.
- Relationship Management: Applies knowledge of WFP s performance management system to manage resources and relationships to undertake monitoring actions to WFP monitoring quality standards.
- Data Analytics and Visualization: Collects and summarizes programme data, including information on shipments, distribution site logistics, the status of persons in need and beneficiaries planned and reached for all programme assistance modalities and activities.
- Programme Monitoring and Review: Gathers, organizes, and provides data on programme outputs, processes and outcomes, including distribution plans and the status, quantity, and quality of food and cash distributed and technical assistance provided.and propose adjustments to the strategy as needed to optimize results and engagement.
