Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The field operations senior engineer Amara (also cover Kut govermant) is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and maintenance of telecom sites. This role involves supervising power contractors, overseeing site infrastructure, managing relationships with site owners, and resolving operational challenges to ensure seamless network operations. The engineer will conduct routine field visits, enforce compliance with operational and safety standards, and drive continuous improvements to uphold high network quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining uninterrupted services for end users.
Key Accountabilities
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and ensure the optimal performance of telecom sites, including power systems, cooling, and passive infrastructure.
- Conduct regular field inspections to assess site conditions, verify compliance, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage preventive and corrective maintenance activities to minimize downtime and enhance site availability.
- Ensure adherence to operational KPIs, SLAs, and network uptime targets.
- Oversee power supply systems (generators, solar, batteries, etc..) to maintain a stable energy supply.
- Supervise power contractors and ensure proper maintenance and repairs of power and cooling systems.
- Assess and recommend improvements for energy efficiency and site sustainability.
- Manage third-party contractors for site maintenance, ensuring compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
- Conduct periodic performance evaluations of vendors and contractors, addressing any deficiencies.
- Ensure timely completion of planned maintenance and emergency response tasks.
- Manage relationships with landlords and site owners, addressing rental agreements, access issues, and site disputes.
- Coordinate with internal teams (NOC, RF, Transmission, Power, and Security) to resolve field operational issues efficiently.
- Act as a point of contact for escalations related to site access, power failures, and infrastructure concerns.
- Ensure all teams comply with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of site conditions, maintenance logs, and technical reports.
- Propose and implement process improvements to enhance site performance and operational efficiency.
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives, ensuring prompt response to site failures.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education:
- Bachelor s degree in electrical engineering, Telecommunications or a related field (preferred).
Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in field operations, power systems, or telecom site management. Strong understanding of soil mechanics and foundation engineering principles.
- Proficiency in using field operation tools and monitoring systems.
- Basic understanding of power and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with power systems, including generators, rectifiers, Solar systems, and backup power solutions.
- Familiarity with power systems and contractual agreements.
Work Requirement
