Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Installation of Water Meters:

    Install electronic or flow meters at residential, commercial, or industrial sites.

    Ensure correct piping connections and proper flow direction.

    Connect the meter to data communication systems.

    Commission measurement instruments onsite.

  2. Configuration & Activation:

    Program or configure the meter with customer/site-specific settings (e.g., meter ID, communication frequency, etc.).

    Activate meters in the system for automatic reading.

    Test the communication link between the meter and the central data system.

  3. Calibration & Accuracy Check:

    Perform flow testing to verify meter accuracy.

    Calibrate if necessary using reference meters or mobile testing equipment.

  4. Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

    Identify and repair faulty or non-communicating meters.

    Replace damaged or malfunctioning units.

    Provide on-site technical support to customers or supervisors.

  5. Data Logging & Reporting:

    Document meter serial numbers, installation dates, GPS location, and readings.

    Use handheld devices, tablets, or mobile apps for real-time reporting.

    Prepare service and inspection reports.

  • Handheld meter programming devices
  • Flow testing equipment
  • Standard plumbing and electrical tools

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of hands-on experience in field service, instrumentation, or control systems within industrial environments.
  • Strong understanding of instrumentation principles, calibration techniques, and process automation.
  • PLC knowledge is a plus.
  • SCADA knowledge is a plus.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Effective communication skills for client interaction and technical reporting.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites and work in various industrial settings.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and compliance requirements in industrial operations.
