Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The Finance Assistant role is crucial to support the financial operations of our organization. The ideal candidate will assist the finance department in managing daily accounting and financial tasks. This role entails responsibility for keeping records up to date, preparing financial reports, assisting with audits, and providing general administrative support. A Finance Assistant should be meticulous, detail-oriented, and possess a good understanding of financial principles and accounting procedures. This position offers the opportunity to gain experience in a dynamic work environment, where the ideal candidate will be required to manage multiple tasks effectively while adhering to company policies and deadlines. The Finance Assistant will report to the Finance Manager and work closely with other departments to ensure the smooth operation of financial functions.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and ledgers.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and balance sheets.
- Provide administrative support in budget preparation and monitoring.
- Coordinate with the finance team to manage cash flow forecasts.
- Assist in the processing of invoices, receipts, and payments.
- Review and verify expense reports and ensure all requests comply with policies.
- Support the Finance Manager in organizing audits and yearly financial projects.
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable to ensure effective cash flow management.
- Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings, and statements.
- Participate in maintaining internal controls over financial transactions.
- Assist in resolving discrepancies in financial data and reports.
- Contribute to improving financial procedures and policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required.
- Experience with financial software and Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial regulations.
