Finance Director

Key Responsibilities:

1) Strategic & Financial Leadership:

• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company s vision and telecom industry dynamics.
• Partner with the CEO and executive team to shape long-term business plans, pricing models, and capital allocation.
• Provide financial insight into network expansion, spectrum acquisition, and technology investments.

2) Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):

• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes across all business units.
• Monitor key telecom KPIs such as ARPU (Average Revenue Per User), churn rate, EBITDA margins, and CAPEX efficiency.
• Prepare financial models to assess new products, partnerships, or market expansions.

3) Accounting & Reporting:

• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in line with IFRS and local regulatory requirements.
• Oversee revenue recognition for complex telecom services (prepaid, postpaid, bundled offerings).
• Maintain robust internal controls and compliance with tax, audit, and telecom regulatory authorities.

4) Treasury & Cash Flow Management:

• Manage liquidity, working capital, and relationships with banks and investors.
• Oversee funding strategies for large-scale infrastructure and network projects.
• Optimize foreign exchange exposure and hedging strategies for international operations.

5) Commercial & Operational Finance:

• Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to evaluate pricing strategies, promotions, and distribution models.
• Drive cost optimization in network operations, procurement, and IT systems.
• Support decision-making for interconnect agreements, roaming charges, and regulatory fees.

6) Leadership & Team Development:

• Lead and mentor the finance team, building capabilities in FP&A, treasury, and telecom-specific accounting.
• Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
• Act as a key advisor to the Board of Directors on financial performance and risk management.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics; MBA or professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CFA) preferred.
• 12 15 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Strong understanding of the telecom sector, including revenue models, regulatory environment, and capital-intensive projects.
• Proven experience in managing large-scale CAPEX budgets and complex financing structures.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strategic thinker with hands-on capability to manage both high-level planning and operational execution.
