Roles & Responsibilities

Job Purpose

The Finance Manager will play an integral role to the success of Prime Group of Companies overall growth strategy; contributing to overall success of the company by effectively managing all financial tasks for the company.

This role will be expected to develop an understanding of our future financial growth and firmness- driving continuous improvement in the effective deployment of financial and funding resources and the development of our brand positioning as a leader in the Industry.

The following section outlines a more detailed, but not exhaustive, description of the duties pertinent to this post.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND CAPABILITIES

1. Accomplish following strategy tasks:

· Develop Prime Group financial strategy and set accounting and funding principles.

· Significantly contribute to the institutional wide growth strategy, including executive planning and decision making, organisational sustainability and organic growth

· Develop the short- and long-term finance plans and annual operating plans, including KPIs for the department/s.

· Develop a planned approach to business process improvements and acts as the functional sponsor for any large-scale change projects.

· Oversee the development of budgets and makes resource allocation recommendations across Institutions

· Develop, implement and maintain financial risk management policies and procedures.

· Develop a resourcing plan for the department.

· Contribute as a member of the Executive Committee to institution-wide initiatives including course offerings/portfolio, business planning and budgeting

2. Establish, monitor & maintain the following Organisational Development goals:

· Actively manage performance requirements of team members to ensure key performance outcomes are achieved.

· Ensure all team members are aware of Prime Group policies and procedures and fully comply with them.

· Monitor and manage employee turnover and unplanned absences to agreed measures.

· As a member of the Executive Group, contribute to the Institutional wide resource planning and capability building

· Build and maintain strong relationships with all key internal and external stakeholders

3. Plan, supervise, review the progress of following deliverables:

· Lead Prime Group’s efforts to develop financial stability.

· Oversee the delivery of change projects.

· Achieve agreed financial targets e.g. financial sustainability, cost control, revenue improvements, profit maximisation

· Ensure the department is fully compliant with Local / National Government, regulatory and partnership requirements.

· Effectively deploy third-party service providers as required.

4. Perform other related duties as required during working hours.

Desired Candidate Profile

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (The knowledge, skills and attitudes required for satisfactory job performance)

Knowledge:

· Degree qualification in Business, Finance or a related discipline. Experience leading the operations and strategy within Finance, Accounts and business development environments.

· Membership of a relevant professional body.

· Strong knowledge and demonstrable track record of achievements in the leadership and management of effective Finance and accounting projects.

· Experience in managing, motivating and leading a large multidisciplinary team.

· Demonstrable experience of proactive contributions to corporate strategic level planning and decision making.

· Evidence of efficient and effective management of resources, including the planning and coordination of staffing and budgetary resources.

· Experience of providing and utilising relevant management information, statistics and analysis required for decision making processes.

· Ability to foster relationships within new and existing income streams.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical Demands (The nature of physical effort leading to physical fatigue)

· The Finance Manager will have to spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers.

Environmental Conditions (The nature of adverse environmental conditions affecting the incumbent)

· The Finance Manager may have to manage a number of projects at one time, and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of clients.

· The Finance Manager may find the environment to be busy, noisy and will need excellent organizational and time and stress management skills to complete the required tasks.

· The Finance Manager deals with a very stressful environment as many of the clients are frustrated and require immediate services.
