Roles & Responsibilities

>Generic responsibilities 

These responsibilities shall be the same for all positions with the same title. The responsibilities shall be short and essential. Details belong in the Work and Development plan.

  1. Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks, and guidelines.
  2. Implement delegated support function portfolio according to plan of action.
  3. Prepare and develop status reports as required by management.
  4. Ensure proper filing of documents.
  5. Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function.
  6. Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards & principles within NRC and amongst beneficiaries served by NRC.

u>Specific responsibilities /u>


  • Daily bookkeeping, utilizing NRC Agresso accounting system.
  • Ensure timely payment to Contingent Workers, Suppliers, Service providers and other expenditures through bank transfers or cheques.
  • Verify that the vouchers and the supporting documents meet NRC standards before proceeding with the payments.
  • Ensure proper tracking and monitoring of supplier/program payments including monthly reconciliations with relevant parties.

u>CASH/u>

  • Bookkeeping - Make sure that the cashbook post-back is updated with cash payment transactions daily and share with the Finance Coordinator for posting.
  • Responsible for cashbox, cashflow and regular cash counts including the proper tracking of cash advances.
  • Verify that the vouchers and the supporting documents meet NRC standards before proceeding with the payments.

u>GENERAL/u>

  • Ensure filing of all financial documents according to NRC standards.
  • Support in the month-end closing processes by ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the cash ledger and all supporting documentation is in place and properly coded.
  • Performing variance analyses and preparing account reconciliations
  • Responsible for scanning and archiving finance documentation as per SSD guidelines for the Field Office on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Support the Finance Coordinator in audit preparations and audit close out.

Desired Candidate Profile


Generic professional competencies:

  • Experience from working as a Support Function Officer in a humanitarian/recovery context.
  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.
  • Documented results related to the position s responsibilities.
  • Some knowledge of English.

  • Qualification requirement: BA in Accounting or related field.
