Main Responsibilities

Verify and reconcile monthly accounting journals and ensure accurate financial coding for SUNSYSTEM entries.

Oversee daily bank and cash transactions, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to internal controls.

Manage payments to suppliers, taxes, and payroll, and ensure timely reconciliation of accounts.

Monitor open advances and deposits, ensuring timely follow-up and clearance.

Maintain an organized, secure filing system of original financial documentation.

Support the Finance Manager in audits, budget planning, and donor reporting.

Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and variance analyses for review and submission.

Act as the main finance contact for field teams and provide technical guidance.

Conduct financial inductions and orientation for new finance staff when required.

Substitute for the Finance Manager during absences.

Requirements

Essential:

Minimum 3 years of relevant finance or accounting experience, preferably with NGOs.

Experience with financial software systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Strong understanding of financial regulations, accounting processes, and donor compliance.

Ability to manage budgets and process large volumes of data with accuracy.

Good command of English, both written and spoken.

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

Desirable:

Experience managing donor contracts (ECHO, FCDO, BHA, SDC).

Prior experience in international or humanitarian organisations.
