Roles & Responsibilities

MGS Financial Operations

  • Primary Strategic Lead for R2R accounting activities as it relates to period close accounting processes, account reconciliation and financial analysis. Manage R2R Blackline task list and reconciliations to timely completion.

  • Responsible for close activities including the leading own work and the review of other associates work related to R2R accounting, as necessary.

  • Development and documentation of standard R2R accounting tasks, liaising with business units for implementation and deployment.

  • Provide functional advice or training to others.

  • Review complex R2R related journal entries in support of period end close activities.

  • Functional expert for R2R general accounting systems and processes.

  • Serve as primary point of contact for any general accounting considerations from BUs and audit teams.

  • Initiate and manage smooth transitioning of tasks, processes, and other activities from the BUs into MGSF (Take-On Management).

  • Create and develop effective/mutual co-piloting relationship with supported BUs (internal customers).

  • Process Improvements -- Make recommendations on continuous improvement of established processes and procedures and design new processes to ensure that internal control requirements are met. Ensure compliance to current Process and Control Standards (PACS)

  • Business Improvement Recommend and drive changes or improvements to business practices as they relate to technical accounting to ensure the overall efficiency of the department.

  • Audit Process Ensure adequate processes and procedures within the GA group to maintain a seamless interim and year-end audit. Support external and internal audit engagements as it relates to functional area.

  • Manage and monitor adherence to general accounting Mars Finance policy and required practices.

  • Work with corporate controllership team to understand new reporting requirements and supports new system enhancements/Improvements

Manage Accounting Processes:

  • Organize work activities and resources for team members in order to comply with necessary financial activities related to general accounting and period close process.

  • Facilitate communications across departments/units to build strong collaborative relationships and ensure service levels and metrics are met and exceeded.

  • Lead improvements in closing and reporting processes and metrics. Lead presentations to MEA Controller, CFOs or S&F Managers as required.

  • Lead special projects and analyses as requested by Senior MGSF Management.

  • Support the MGSF Global Transformation team and digital initiatives as required.

Analysis and Insights

  • Co-pilot with business units to deliver financial reporting, insights, and analysis.

  • Perform complex ad hoc financial analysis, as required.

Service Levels & Metrics:

  • Responsible for meeting and exceeding Service Level Agreements, GA metrics and customer expectations.

  • Manage and review results with senior management for the following metrics:

    • Close Tasks Completed on Time

  • Timeliness of closing and reporting

Digital / Automation Transformation

  • Identify digital / automation opportunities in R2R accounting and actively participate in their development aiming to deliver efficiencies in operations while maintaining quality and controls.

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives within R2R accounting, aiming to deliver efficiencies in operations.

  • Review work prepared by others and recommend opportunities to improve effectiveness, simplification, and standardization.

  • Lead the documentation efforts across supported accounting processes to complete desktop procedures and manual journal entry inventory. Train Genpact associates to raise competency levels as needed.

GLM

  • Manage all R2R staff, including hiring, training, distribution of workload, coaching and organization structure to ensure development of associates.

  • Manage and develop highly engaged associates.

Manage and develop highly engaged MGS Finance associates through proper performance and development discussions, follow-up sessions, and continual training opportunities.
