Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
What you'll be doing:
- Lead the month end close and reporting process and ensure timely and accurate financial data and annual financial statements under Dutch GAAP;
- Manage and develop an international team of 8 finance professionals responsible for payroll, P2P and accounting;
- Coordinate external audits and act as the primary contact for auditors;
- Own financial control processes and ensure compliance with statutory and internal requirements;
- Drive improvements in processes, systems, and internal controls, where possible with help of new (AI) technologies;
- Further improve controls on the Balance Sheet, manage international VAT, sales tax and WHT (withholding tax risks);
- Further enhance the Project Control function in Finance;
- Implement Working Capital and Liquidity management and reporting;
- Collaborate with the business controller and CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis;
- Liaise with tax advisors and legal teams on financial and compliance matters across regions.
Desired Candidate Profile
What you ll bring:
- Education & Certification: You are a qualified accountant (RA or RC preferred) with strong technical knowledge of Dutch GAAP or IRFS.
- Experience: At least 2 years post-qualification in a financial control or senior accounting role, or 6+ years in an accounting firm (preferably Big 4). Experience in SaaS or other complex, high-growth environments is required.
- Knowledge: You bring at least 3 years of experience with the Dutch tax system and payroll.
- Leadership: Proven experience managing and developing (international) finance teams, including remote teams across multiple time zones.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills, with experience in Power BI and Business Central (strong plus).
- Work Approach & Mindset: Proactive, structured, and detail-oriented, with excellent time-management and prioritization skills. You thrive in a hands-on, dynamic scale-up environment and bring structure when challenges arise.
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills. You re resourceful, collaborative, and fluent in English (Dutch is a strong plus).
