Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee all financial operations, ensuring strong financial control, accuracy, and compliance across the organization.
  • Develop, monitor, and control budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and donor requirements.
  • Prepare and review high-quality financial reports for management and donors, ensuring timely and accurate submission.
  • Ensure full compliance with donor regulations, organizational policies, and applicable accounting standards.
  • Oversee and approve all financial transactions, ensuring proper documentation and audit trails
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, including full balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls, risk management frameworks, and financial policies.
  • Manage cash flow, liquidity planning, and financial sustainability of projects.
  • Lead and coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring full readiness and compliance.
  • Provide strategic financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to support decision-making.
  • Supervise and mentor finance staff, ensuring high performance and continuous development.
  • Act as the main focal point for financial matters with donors, auditors, and senior management.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master s or professional certification such as ACCA, CPA is highly preferred).
  • 3 7/8 years of progressive experience in finance, with strong exposure to financial control and reporting.
  • Proven experience within NGOs, preferably in the humanitarian field.
  • Strong knowledge of financial controls, accounting standards, budgeting, and donor compliance.
  • Solid experience with donor-funded projects and financial reporting requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and financial systems/ERP.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Arabic.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
