Oversee the delivery of all financial accounting and bookkeeping services to clients within the FaaS portfolio, ensuring that each client s day-to-day accounting and periodic financial reporting are handled efficiently and accurately.
- Supervise the Financial Services team (Team leaders, Financial Account Managers and Accountants), providing direction, coaching, and performance monitoring. Ensure all monthly and quarterly closes are completed on time, with accurate reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reports delivered as per agreed SLAs.
- Review key outputs prepared by the team, including financial statements, management reports, budgets, and forecasts. Perform high-level checks and analyses to ensure accuracy, quality, and professional standards.
- Ensure full compliance with accounting standards (IFRS or equivalent) and local statutory requirements in the GCC countries, particularly UAE and KSA.
- Serve as the primary financial contact for key client accounts, attending regular meetings, discussing financial results, and providing advisory input. For large clients, act in a fractional CFO capacity when needed.
- Implement and continuously enhance financial processes, systems, and reporting tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate closely with the Tax Manager to ensure seamless integration between accounting and tax services, aligning bookkeeping practices with tax compliance requirements.
- Oversee delivery of value-added services such as financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and KPI reporting for clients.
- Handle escalations and complex accounting issues (e.g., unusual transactions, consolidations, or audit queries) and resolve them through research or expert consultation.
- Support business growth by contributing to proposals, client scoping, and sales pitches as a subject matter expert in Financial Services.
- Own the vertical growth and retention KPIs, ensuring strong client satisfaction, revenue expansion, and margin health.
- Take full responsibility for billing and collections, ensuring timely invoicing, approval, and payment follow-up within defined terms.
- Monitor team performance KPIs, including ARPU growth, churn rate, and gross margin.
- Actively coordinate with Tax, Product, and Sales teams to maintain integrated workflows, aligned timelines, and a unified client experience.
- Represent Mazeed in webinars, events, and seminars as a subject-matter expert and brand ambassador for FaaS services when needed.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master s in Finance or an MBA (with finance focus) can be a plus but is not mandatory if experience is strong.
- Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CA (Chartered Accountant) or equivalent is highly preferred, as it attests to technical expertise in accounting and financial management.
- 10+ years of experience in accounting/financial management roles, with a progression that includes at least a 3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity. Prior roles could include Accounting Manager, or Controller in an SME. Experience in an outsourcing firm or handling multiple entities is advantageous.
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS) and practical experience in preparing full sets of financial statements.
- Experience in financial reporting and analysis i.e., not just bookkeeping. The manager should have experience turning ledger data into management insights, such as ratio analysis, performance dashboards, etc., since enterprises may expect advisory input along with reports.
- Familiarity with the business environments in GCC countries, particularly UAE / KSA. For instance, understanding typical SME structures, common financial challenges in these markets, and any local compliance is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage client relationships or stakeholder expectations. The role requires interacting with external clients similar to how an internal finance head would interact with company leadership, so having prior client-facing or cross-departmental coordination experience is a must.
- Highly comfortable with accounting ERPs and modern financial tools. Able to harness features like automation of entries, and use advanced Excel functions or BI tools to analyze data. Embraces new tech (like AI-powered financial analysis tools) that can enhance the service delivery.
