Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  1. System Installation: Lay out and install complete water-based fire protection systems, including wet/dry risers, hydrants, hose reels, and sprinkler networks.

  2. Piping Fabrication: Expertly perform pipe threading, roll-grooving, and mechanical joining for MS (Mild Steel) and GI (Galvanized Iron) pipes.

  3. Blueprint Execution: Read and interpret Fire Protection Shop Drawings and Isometric plans to ensure installation matches approved Civil Defense designs.

  4. Sprinkler Modification: Relocate and modify sprinkler droppers and heads according to ceiling layouts in fit-out projects.

  5. Pump Room Works: Assist in the installation and alignment of fire pumps (Electric and Diesel) and connect suction/discharge piping.

  6. Testing & Inspection: Conduct hydrostatic pressure testing (e.g., up to 200 psi) to identify leaks and ensure system integrity before final inspection.

  7. Maintenance: Troubleshoot and repair mechanical faults, replace faulty landing valves, and service fire extinguishers.

  8. Safety Compliance: Adhere to NFPA standards and local Civil Defense (DCD/ADCD) regulations on-site.

Desired Candidate Profile

  1. Education: ITI / Trade Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Plumbing preferred but not compulsory.

  2. Experience: 2–5 years of hands-on experience specifically in Fire Fighting piping. UAE/Gulf experience is highly preferred.

  3. Technical Skills: Expertise in operating threading, welding and grooving machines.

    • Knowledge of different pipe joining methods (Mechanical Tee, Hemping, Flanged).

    • Ability to differentiate between various fire protection valves (ZCV, Butterfly, Check Valves).

  4. Physical Ability: Must be physically fit to work at heights (on scaffolding/man-lifts) and carry heavy piping materials.

  5. Availability: Candidates who are immediately available (Visit Visa, Cancelled Visa, or serving notice) will be prioritized.
