Engineering Manager (Fire Protection System-Mechanical Engineer)

Job Summary: We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team in Dubai as an Engineering Manager – Fire Protection System (Mechanical Engineer). This critical leadership role will oversee engineering activities for fire protection systems, ensuring high standards of safety, technical compliance, project delivery, and team performance. The successful candidate will possess strong technical background in fire fighting systems, proven project management skills, and the ability to mentor multidisciplinary engineering teams to achieve project excellence and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities – Engineering Management of Fire Protection Systems

• Lead and supervise a team of fire protection design engineers, ensuring delivery of robust mechanical fire protection solutions, including fire alarm, detection, suppression, and sprinkler systems.
• Evaluate and approve project proposals, detailed designs, technical drawings, and material submittals for fire protection systems in line with local and international fire safety codes (e.g., UAE Fire Code, NFPA).
• Coordinate with project managers, clients, consultants, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle—conceptual design, execution, handover, and closeout—to ensure technical and contractual requirements are met.
• Monitor project engineering progress, resources, schedules, and deliverables; proactively address technical issues, risks, and changes.
• Champion a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement in fire protection engineering activities.
• Participate in value engineering, cost optimisation, and bid support activities by providing expert guidance on fire protection systems.
• Oversee site technical support, attend technical meetings, and resolve engineering queries during installation and commissioning phases.
• Coach and develop engineering team members, fostering knowledge sharing and promoting professional growth.

Required Skills – Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection & Team Leadership

• Expert knowledge of the design, installation, testing, and maintenance of mechanical fire protection systems and fire suppression technologies.
• Up-to-date understanding of fire safety regulations, codes, and standards, including NFPA and UAE Fire Code.
• Proven experience in leading engineering teams and coordinating multidisciplinary project activities in the fire protection industry.
• Strong project management capabilities, including planning, resource allocation, and technical oversight.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal teams, clients, and regulatory authorities.
• Highly analytical with problem-solving aptitude and the ability to drive results in fast-paced project environments.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, and relevant engineering software for fire protection design and documentation.

Qualifications & Experience – Fire Protection Engineering Management

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or related engineering discipline; Master’s degree is an advantage.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant leadership experience in fire protection system design, engineering, and project management, preferably within the UAE or GCC region.
• Track record of successful delivery of large-scale firefighting and fire protection projects in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
• Comprehensive knowledge of both local and international standards and codes for the design and installation of fire suppression and alarm systems.
• Experience managing engineering teams and working within a multidisciplinary project environment.
• Demonstrable commitment to professional development, team leadership, and safety culture.
