Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, routine inspections, and testing of electric and diesel-driven fire pumps, jockey pumps, and control panels.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults in fire pump systems and recommend appropriate repair solutions.
Conduct on-site testing, including hydrostatic tests and flow tests, ensuring systems operate efficiently and meet required flow rates and pressures.
Perform installation, servicing, repair, and commissioning of new fire pump systems and associated equipment.
Maintain accurate records and complete all required documentation, including job sheets, maintenance schedules, and activity reports, to ensure proper certification and client reporting.
Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with company health and safety policies, industry standards, and NFPA fire codes.
Liaise professionally with clients, management, and third-party contractors on-site.
Keep abreast of changes and amendments to standards, regulations, and best practices within the fire protection industry.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Proven experience (strong>typically 5-8 years minimum/strong>) in the maintenance and operation of fire protection systems, specifically fire pumps.
Strong knowledge of fire codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NFPA 20, NFPA 25).
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills for mechanical and electrical systems.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a field-based service environment.
Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
