Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Design, implement and conduct compliance audits of firefighting and life safety systems across 7X facilities, supporting risk mitigation and emergency preparedness in alignment with Civil Defence and international safety standards; thereby mitigating operational and reputational risks associated with fire safety non-compliance.
Strategy, Policy and Procedure
· Support the strategic review and upgrade planning of firefighting systems to meet evolving safety standards and asset requirements.
· Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
· Deal confidentially with all the information related to work to protect the interests of the company and its activities.
Fire Safety projects
· Ensure fire safety systems are operational at all times by monitoring the FM contract scope and addressing Civil Defense notifications and FACP alarms.
· Conduct site inspections with Civil Defense and other parties to verify that all FLS systems are functioning and up to standard.
· Perform continuous monitoring, on-site troubleshooting, technical diagnostics, preventive & corrective maintenance of all firefighting and life safety systems.
· Coordinate with external vendors, contractors and in-house technicians ensuring fire system servicing, testing and repairs are completed on time.
· Perform comprehensive fire risk assessments, propose mitigation measures and enhance emergency preparedness in line with relevant Fire Safety regulations.
· Maintain and update all compliance records, maintenance logs and service reports in alignment with regulatory requirements.
· Monitor FLS-related CAPEX projects ensuring timely delivery, adherence to specifications, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
· Perform the design, execution and handover of fire alarm and firefighting upgrade projects for all 7X assets to align with the latest Civil Defense codes and rectify non-compliances.
· Monitor all fire and life safety modifications resulting from frequent space repurposing activities (e.g., closure of Touch Point offices and their conversion to EMX stores or other operations).
· Evaluate the annual performance of firefighting systems and service vendors, providing performance data for contract renewals and improvement initiatives.
FLS related administrative tasks
· Manage all Civil Defense 24/7 subscription systems, including Hassantuk, AMAN, DCD, and Weqayah.
· Coordinate the timely renewal process for Civil Defense Safety Certificates for all facilities to avoid fines or building closures.
· Develop detailed Statements of Work (SOWs) for Fire Life Safety (FLS)-related capital projects, ensuring alignment with operational requirements and compliance standards.
· Review and provide input on tender documents to ensure technical accuracy and clarity of scope.
· Conduct technical evaluations of vendor proposals to support transparent and effective procurement decisions.
Synergies with Stakeholders
· Coordinate with Procurement to develop new contracts pertaining to fire safety maintenance and the necessary technical review of the contracts.
· Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure fire safety operations are carried out in an efficient manner.
Reports
· Prepare periodic reports on fire systems, vendor performance to the management to support contract reviews and improvement planning.
Other Tasks
· Perform any other responsibilities relating to this job request or work task as allocated by the Line Manager.
Desired Candidate Profile
· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Fire Safety Engineering or equivalent.
· Holds Certification in Fire Safety (e.g., NFPA, CFPS, or equivalent) or Civil Defence-approved fire safety training.
Experience:
· 5-7 years of experience in Firefighting system maintenance and engineering and emergency evacuation protocols in large-scale asset environments.
Job Specific Skills (Technical Competencies):
· Knowledge of NFPA, UAE Civil Defense codes and international fire safety standards
· Firefighting system maintenance and engineering
· Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic ability in fire protection systems
· Project management (budgeting, scheduling, reporting) for fire/life safety systems
· Compliance coordination with local authorities (Civil Defence, Hassantuk, etc.)
· Familiarity with compliance documentation and regulatory procedures
· Communication & Problem-solving skills
