Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Oversee and manage the daily operations of the fleet and delivery teams to ensure timely and accurate distribution of catering and food products.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize fleet utilization, route planning, and delivery schedules for maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with safety, hygiene, and regulatory standards across all fleet and delivery operations.
- Coordinate with warehouse, kitchen, and event teams to align delivery logistics with production and client requirements.
- Manage and maintain fleet vehicles, ensuring regular servicing, repairs, and adherence to maintenance schedules.
- Lead, train, and motivate delivery staff and drivers, fostering a culture of accountability, customer service, and continuous improvement.
- Analyze delivery performance metrics, prepare reports, and recommend process improvements to enhance service quality and operational efficiency.
- Handle incident and accident investigations, implement corrective actions, and promote a proactive safety culture.
- Negotiate with vendors and service providers for vehicle leasing, maintenance, and fuel procurement to optimize costs.
- Oversee the implementation and use of fleet management software and tracking systems to monitor deliveries and vehicle status in real time.
Desired Candidate Profile
Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in fleet management, logistics, or delivery operations, preferably within the catering, food service, or hospitality industry.
- Proven track record in managing large fleets and delivery teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and best practices in fleet operations.
- Demonstrated ability to optimize routes, schedules, and resource allocation for cost-effective and timely deliveries.
- Experience with fleet management software, GPS tracking systems, and logistics technology solutions.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous process improvement.
- Ability to work onsite and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to respond to operational demands, including occasional after-hours or weekend work as required.
