Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Fleet Operations Management
- Oversee daily fleet operations and vehicle allocation.
- Ensure maximum vehicle utilization and operational efficiency.
- Monitor vehicle performance, fuel consumption, and usage reports.
- Implement tracking systems (GPS, telematics) to monitor fleet activity.
2. Maintenance & Asset Management
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
- Ensure timely servicing, repairs, and inspections.
- Monitor vehicle condition and lifecycle management.
- Manage vendor relationships for maintenance and spare parts.
3. Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with local transportation laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate vehicle documentation (licenses, insurance, permits).
- Implement fleet safety policies and driver training programs.
- Investigate accidents and implement corrective measures.
4. Cost Control & Budgeting
- Prepare and manage the fleet budget (fuel, maintenance, insurance, leasing).
- Analyze operating costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Monitor fuel efficiency and prevent misuse or fraud.
5. Team Management
- Supervise fleet supervisors, drivers, and support staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and training.
- Ensure discipline, safety standards, and operational procedures are followed.
6. Reporting & Data Analysis
- Prepare periodic reports on fleet KPIs (utilization rate, downtime, cost per vehicle, accident rate).
- Provide recommendations to senior management for optimization and expansion.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Logistics, Transportation, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in fleet management or transportation operations.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and fleet tracking systems.
- Good understanding of transportation regulations and compliance.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and fleet management software.
