Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Fleet Operations Management

  • Oversee daily fleet operations and vehicle allocation.
  • Ensure maximum vehicle utilization and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor vehicle performance, fuel consumption, and usage reports.
  • Implement tracking systems (GPS, telematics) to monitor fleet activity.

2. Maintenance & Asset Management

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure timely servicing, repairs, and inspections.
  • Monitor vehicle condition and lifecycle management.
  • Manage vendor relationships for maintenance and spare parts.

3. Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with local transportation laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle documentation (licenses, insurance, permits).
  • Implement fleet safety policies and driver training programs.
  • Investigate accidents and implement corrective measures.

4. Cost Control & Budgeting

  • Prepare and manage the fleet budget (fuel, maintenance, insurance, leasing).
  • Analyze operating costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Monitor fuel efficiency and prevent misuse or fraud.

5. Team Management

  • Supervise fleet supervisors, drivers, and support staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and training.
  • Ensure discipline, safety standards, and operational procedures are followed.

6. Reporting & Data Analysis

  • Prepare periodic reports on fleet KPIs (utilization rate, downtime, cost per vehicle, accident rate).
  • Provide recommendations to senior management for optimization and expansion.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Logistics, Transportation, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in fleet management or transportation operations.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and fleet tracking systems.
  • Good understanding of transportation regulations and compliance.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and fleet management software.
