Floating Dock Operator (Shipwright)
Job Location: Qatar

Duty Hours: Standard Eight (08) Hours /26 days
Salary: QAR 2,200 per month
Job Overview:
The Floating Dock Operator (Shipwright Department) will be responsible for operating, controlling, and maintaining the floating dock system used for docking and undocking vessels within the shipyard. The role requires strong technical knowledge of floating dock operations, marine safety procedures, and experience handling vessel movements and ballast control systems to ensure safe and efficient docking processes.
Job Role & Responsibilities:
· Operate and control the floating dock during vessel docking and undocking operations.
· Monitor and manage ballast systems to ensure proper stability and alignment of the dock.
· Communicate and coordinate with the docking master, marine engineers, and mooring crew during operations.
· Inspect and maintain dock machinery, pumps, valves, and control panels regularly.
· Prepare docking plans and ensure blocks are set as per vessel specifications.
· Record and report dock operations, ballast readings, and maintenance activities.
· Ensure compliance with all safety and operational procedures during vessel movement.
· Assist in preventive and corrective maintenance of dock systems and related equipment.
· Report any equipment faults or abnormalities to the supervisor immediately.
· Support other shipwright and marine teams in vessel handling and dock maintenance tasks.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
· Education: Diploma / Marine Technical Certification or equivalent qualification.
· Experience: Minimum 4–6 years in shipyard or marine dock operations.
· Must have practical experience operating floating docks or graving docks.
· Knowledge of marine systems, ballast control, and vessel handling procedures.
· Gulf or overseas shipyard experience preferred.
Required Skills:
· Strong understanding of floating dock operations and marine safety standards.
· Ability to read and interpret docking plans and ballast charts.
· Familiarity with dock machinery, pumps, valves, and control systems.
· Excellent communication and coordination with marine and engineering teams.
· Physically fit and capable of working in marine environments.
· Attention to detail and commitment to operational safety.
