Roles & Responsibilities

Overview
We are establishing a new Food & Environmental Testing Department and are seeking an
experienced expert to support its setup and technical development. The consultant will
help define laboratory workflows, analytical capabilities, and quality systems for food and
environmental testing.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and support setup of food & environmental testing workflows
• Define analytical scope and required instrumentation (HPLC, GC-MS, AAS)
• Support method selection, development, and validation
• Assist in laboratory setup, troubleshooting, and operational readiness
• Establish QC procedures and reporting structure
• Support ISO/IEC 17025-aligned system development and audit preparation
• Provide technical guidance and staff training during startup phase
Requirements
• Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related field
• 7+ years of laboratory experience in food and/or environmental testing
• Strong hands-on experience with:
o HPLC
o GC-MS
o AAS
• Experience in method development/validation and lab setup preferred
• Knowledge of food safety and environmental regulations
• Exposure to ISO 17025 or similar quality systems is an advantage
Engagement
• Short-term setup phase (with possible ongoing advisory role)
• Flexible freelance arrangement
• On-site presence in Beirut required during setup phases

• Compensation based on expertise and scope
