Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Implement and maintain hygiene protocols in accordance with regulations and hotel policies, conducting regular inspections of kitchen and dining areas.
Monitor cleaning supplies inventory and train stewarding staff on hygiene practices and equipment operation.
Collaborate with culinary and service teams to ensure smooth operations and handle guest feedback related to cleanliness.
Develop and implement a food safety management system, including regular audits, staff training, and accurate record-keeping.
Ensure food safety throughout the entire supply chain, from sourcing to service, in collaboration with other departments.
Conduct risk assessments and implement preventive measures to mitigate potential hygiene and food safety hazards.
Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes, adjusting protocols as necessary to maintain compliance and best practices.
Coordinate with external health inspectors and auditors, preparing necessary documentation and addressing any concerns or violations promptly.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive hygiene and sanitation schedule for all areas of the property, including guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas.
Implement and oversee a pest control program, working with external vendors as needed to ensure a pest-free environment.
Manage the proper disposal of waste and hazardous materials in compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability initiatives.
Conduct regular hygiene and food safety training sessions for all staff members, including new hires and refresher courses for existing employees.
Investigate and report on any hygiene-related incidents or outbreaks, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Desired Candidate Profile
Your experience and skills include:
- Proven experience as Hygiene Manager or similar role in a luxury hospitality environment, with strong knowledge of hygiene standards and sanitation regulations
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Food Safety, or related field; certification in food handling and hygiene practices is highly desirable
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to motivate and train a diverse team
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to maintaining high standards in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with various departments and external auditors
