Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will teach Food Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering an engaging and practical curriculum that develops students technical skills, creativity, and understanding of nutrition, food science, and design processes. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a well-resourced department within a forward-thinking British curriculum school.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering high-quality Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4

  • Planning and delivering practical and theory lessons aligned to the English National Curriculum

  • Preparing students effectively for GCSE / IGCSE Food Technology or Food Preparation and Nutrition

  • Managing practical lessons safely, including risk assessments and health & safety procedures

  • Supporting strong student progress, engagement, and outcomes

  • Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, effort, and practical standards

  • Working collaboratively within the Design & Technology faculty and wider school team

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Subject specialism or strong experience in Food Technology / Food Preparation & Nutrition
  • Experience teaching the English National Curriculum and external examination courses
  • Strong practical classroom management and organisational skills
  • A commitment to inclusive practice, safeguarding, and student wellbeing
