Roles & Responsibilities

The Foreman / Chargehand – Interior Fit-Out directly supervises on-site tradespeople and labour gangs, ensuring fit-out works are executed safely, to specification, and on programme. This hands-on role is the key link between site management and the workforce.


Key Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise tradespeople (carpenters, gypsum fixers, ceiling installers, painters, tilers) on assigned project areas.

  • Interpret and implement approved shop drawings, material samples, and work instructions for all fit-out activities.

  • Allocate daily work tasks and manage workforce deployment to maximise productivity.

  • Monitor work quality and dimensions against approved drawings; flag and rectify non-conformances immediately.

  • Coordinate material deliveries, site stores, and tool management for the work area.

  • Enforce HSE rules, safe work practices, PPE usage, and permit-to-work procedures across all workers.

  • Report daily progress, labour counts, and material usage to the Site Engineer.

  • Assist in snagging, punch list rectification, and final area handover.
