Freelance Game Translator (English/Arabic to Turkish) Tamatem Games

About the Role: We are seeking skilled and culturally aware Freelance Translators for a limited-term contract focused on the Arabic and Turkish gaming markets. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between these two languages, ensuring that game narratives, UI, and marketing materials are not only linguistically accurate but culturally adapted for the target audience.

Key Responsibilities:

• MTPE & Editing: Perform high-quality Machine Translation Post-Editing (MTPE) to ensure content is accurate, coherent, and flows naturally.
• Proofreading: Review and polish game text and related materials to ensure they are free of grammatical errors and inconsistencies.
• Localization: Adapt content to suit the nuances of the MENA and Turkish markets, specifically flagging and adjusting culturally sensitive content.
• Quality Assurance: Maintain strict attention to detail to ensure terminology consistency across the project.

Requirements:

• Language Proficiency: Native-level proficiency in either Arabic or Turkish with professional fluency in the other pair.
• Experience: Proven experience in translation, specifically within the video game industry.
• Gamer Profile: A passionate gamer with a deep understanding of gaming terminology, genres, and mechanics.
• Cultural Knowledge: Excellent understanding of the target market s cultural, religious, and social nuances (crucial for localizing sensitive content).
• Technical Skills: Must have experience using MemoQ.

Time Management: Capable of meeting tight deadlines and working efficiently within specified time frames.
