Roles & Responsibilities

Department Definition

Candidates must have a sound understanding of the mechanics of the French language, with strong written and verbal communication skills. It is essential that the candidate is equipped with teaching strategies that promote best practice. Candidate should possess a positive can do attitude.

Main Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Model and support a learner-centered, hands-on classroom environment that promotes learner engagement and participation.
  • Ensure that students reach the expected age-related outcomes for French
  • Gain an understanding of working with Arab youth who will study French in English.
  • Create a positive, active, language-rich learning environment.
  • Support the learning process by identifying needs and guiding students to achieve their learning objectives.
  • Ensure assessments are delivered according to the assessment strategy and guidelines, in a valid and rigorous manner.
  • Maintain an accurate record of student achievement and performance.
  • Create positive and effective relationships with colleagues.

Desired Candidate Profile

Requirements for Expatriates:

3+ years of full-time teaching experience in schools for expats

2+ years full- time teaching experience in schools if the candidate possesses one of the following: MOE teaching License, B.Ed; M.Ed; NTS;PGCE (QTS not required); PGDE; H.D.E; H.E.D; DELTA (Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training); CELTA (Masters level only); TESOL (Masters level only)

  • A bachelor's degree within a relevant field: Bachelor s degree in French as a Foreign Language (FLE)/ a relevant master s degree will be a plus.
  • Good knowledge of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
  • Certified continuing education in Teaching French as a Foreign Language (mandatory)
  • DELF examiner/corrector accreditation will be a plus.
  • Moral courage, integrity, patience, resilience, and flexibility.
  • Excellent level of English proficiency (TOEFL iBT Language proficiency test required or an equivalent to it), which candidates should provide within six months of joining the MOE. (TOEFL score of 79-93 required)
  • Age Limit: Up to 55 years old

Requirements for Emirati Nationals:

  • No previous teaching experience required.
  • A bachelor's degree within a relevant field: Bachelor s degree in French as a Foreign Language (FLE)/ a relevant master s degree will be a plus.
  • Average: minimum GPA of 2.5 for Emirati candidates.
  • Good knowledge of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
  • Certified continuing education in Teaching French as a Foreign Language (mandatory)
  • DELF examiner/corrector accreditation will be a plus.
  • Moral courage, integrity, patience, resilience, and flexibility.
  • English Level: Excellent level of English proficiency (TOEFL iBT certificate or equivalent to it) should be provided within six months from joining MOE. (TOEFL score of 79-93 required)
  • Age Limit: Up to 55 years old
