Job Title: Development Engineer (Architecture/Project Development Focus)

Purpose

The main purpose of the Development Engineer is to support the design coordination, technical planning, and development of real estate and infrastructure projects within the Convention District. This role involves assisting with design reviews, consultant coordination, project documentation, and ensuring that architectural elements align with CDDC’s development standards and strategic goals. The role also supports stakeholder coordination and ensures smooth progression from concept design to execution while maintaining CDDC’s vision and compliance with regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating with design consultants, architects, and engineers to review architectural and technical drawings.
• Ensure all project documentation aligns with project brief, local regulations, and CDDC’s quality standards.
• Support the preparation and review of concept, schematic, and detailed designs for mixed-use developments.
• Track design progress and participate in technical workshops and coordination meetings.
• Review materials, specifications, and design compliance related to sustainability, accessibility, and efficiency.

Project Development Coordination

• Participate in feasibility studies and development evaluations for new projects or project phases by providing the project brief and Areas.
• Conduct site assessments and contribute to site planning and infrastructure layouts.
• Assist in preparing technical documents for permits, approvals, and authority submissions.
• Coordinate with project management and construction teams during the pre-construction phase to ensure design intent is preserved.

Stakeholder & Consultant Management

• Liaise with internal teams (Legal, Finance, Planning, and Procurement) to align design deliverables with business needs.
• Support communication with external stakeholders including municipalities, engineering firms, and service providers.
• Assist with organizing and documenting design and coordination meetings with consultants and contractors.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain records of drawings, revisions, correspondence, and approvals.
• Prepare progress reports, technical notes, and presentation materials as required.
• Monitor timelines, deliverables, and consultant performance in line with project milestones.
• Experience: 0–2 years of experience in a technical design or development coordination role. Internship or training in an architectural/engineering consultancy or real estate development firm is a plus.

Desired Candidate Profile

Technical Skills

• Basic knowledge of design development and building systems (architectural, structural, MEP).
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, BOQs, and technical documentation.
• Familiarity with design software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp) and Microsoft Office tools.
• Understanding of planning and permitting processes.
