Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The EnergyIP Functional Consultant is responsible for implementing, configuring, and supporting Siemens EnergyIP solutions within utility environments.

This role focuses on understanding business processes related to metering, billing, and energy data management, translating them into functional requirements, and ensuring successful deployment and integration of EnergyIP modules.

Key Responsibilities:

SHARJAH

Requirements Gathering & Analysis

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand functional and technical requirements for Meter Data Management (MDM) and related systems.

  • Document business processes and map them to EnergyIP functionalities.

Solution Design & Configuration

  • Configure EnergyIP modules (such as Meter Data Management, Event Management, Validation, Estimation & Editing (VEE), and Reporting).

  • Design workflows, validation rules, and data processing logic within EnergyIP.

  • Support integration with external systems such as CIS, OMS, SCADA, and AMI head-end systems.

Implementation & Testing

  • Participate in solution design workshops and functional walkthroughs.

  • Develop and execute functional test cases, perform system integration testing (SIT), and support user acceptance testing (UAT).

  • Troubleshoot and resolve functional issues during implementation and post go-live phases.

Support & Maintenance

  • Provide ongoing functional support for EnergyIP applications.

  • Analyze and resolve production issues, perform root cause analysis, and recommend improvements.

  • Collaborate with technical teams for patch upgrades, performance tuning, and enhancements.

Documentation & Training

  • Prepare functional design documents, configuration guides, and user manuals.

  • Conduct training sessions and knowledge transfer to end-users and support teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

Experience:

  • 8–10 years of experience in utility domain projects, preferably with Siemens EnergyIP or other Meter Data Management Systems (MDMS).

  • Hands-on experience in functional configuration, business process mapping, and data analysis.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Understanding of AMI, smart metering, and energy data management concepts.

  • Familiarity with SQL, Oracle databases, and data modeling.

  • Knowledge of integration technologies (Web Services, APIs, Message Queues) is a plus.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Siemens EnergyIP certification or prior implementation experience.

  • Experience with utility business processes (meter-to-cash, outage management, demand response).

  • Exposure to Agile or Waterfall project methodologies.

  • Experience working with large-scale data systems and performance optimization.
