Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Monitor furnace operations, including temperature, pressure, and gas flow, to ensure optimal performance and product quality.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks like cleaning, inspecting, and lubricating furnace components to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Adjust furnace settings and controls based on production schedules and material requirements to maintain desired process parameters.
  • Load and unload materials into and out of the furnace, adhering to safety protocols and handling procedures.
  • Conduct quality checks on finished products, identifying and addressing any defects or deviations from specifications.
  • Troubleshoot furnace malfunctions and equipment failures, diagnosing issues and implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of furnace operations, including temperature logs, material usage, and production output.
  • Adhere strictly to safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe working environment and prevent accidents.
  • Collaborate with other team members, such as metallurgists or supervisors, to optimize furnace operations and improve efficiency.
  • Report any unusual occurrences, safety hazards, or equipment problems to the appropriate personnel promptly.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required to understand technical instructions and safety protocols.
  • Possession of relevant certifications, such as those related to furnace operation or industrial maintenance, is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience in furnace operation or a related industrial environment is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience in the steel, aluminum, or manufacturing industries showcases relevant industry knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of furnace operating principles, including temperature control, heat treatment, and material properties is required.
  • Proficiency in using and maintaining various furnace equipment, tools, and instruments is crucial.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics is essential.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions and production issues is important.
