Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The university is seeking a General Accountant responsible for managing financial records, ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance. This role includes but not limited to overseeing daily financial transactions, reconciling accounts, processing payroll, and assisting in budget preparation and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledger entries
  • Reconcile bank statements and accounts regularly
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Entering payroll information and maintaining payroll files.
  • Calculating salaries, overtime earnings, and unpaid leaves.
  • Issuing salaries (staff and faculty members).
  • Updating payroll system, including employment hires and terminations.
  • Preparing yearly reports for NSSF and TAX declarations.
  • Providing payroll analysis and reporting to management

Desired Candidate Profile

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor s degree in accounting/finance or similar administrative fields.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in related field
  • Strong working knowledge of payroll practices and labor & compliance guidelines.
  • Proactive and capable of working as a team member, as well as independently.
  • Good time management, organizational problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to develop and adhere to detailed processes
  • Good communication skills in Arabic and English, and considerable ability in oral and written French.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel
