The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) was established in 1996 by Federal Cabinet Decree (Law 4) to regulate civil aviation and provide aviation services with observance to safety and security, strengthening the aviation industry within the UAE. Since its establishment, the GCAA has made considerable progress through modernization of air traffic control systems, radar equipment upgrades, and the establishment of new facilities to support the growth of civil aviation across the UAE.
