The purpose of a Medical Laboratory Manager is to oversee the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of diagnostic tests. Responsibilities Specific Responsibilities for this Role · Oversee day-to-day operations of the laboratory, ensuring accurate and timely diagnostic test results. · Manage and supervise laboratory staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and scheduling. · Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including local and international accreditation standards, safety protocols, and quality control measures. · Develop and implement laboratory policies and procedures to maintain efficient and high-quality service. · Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting. · Manage inventory and procurement of laboratory supplies and reagents, ensuring cost-effective use and minimal waste. · Collaborate with healthcare providers to interpret test results and assist with clinical decision-making. · Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and identify areas for improvement. · Develop and manage the laboratory’s budget, including expense tracking and cost control measures. · Address and resolve any issues or concerns regarding laboratory operations, personnel, or patient care. · Stay current with advances in laboratory technology, testing procedures, and medical practices to enhance laboratory services.
